The School Nurse is the first point of contact at school for all medical and health issues concerning our students. We provide assistance with managing health issues so that the student can have a happy and effective day at school.
Some the typical activities of the School Nurse are: - initial care if child takes ill at school, including making parents aware
- subsequent management of issue when child returns to school
- issue medication to children if supplied by parents
- deal with minor injuries sustained during school and sport activities
- assist with coaching regarding personal hygiene
- contact doctor or hospital in case of serious emergencies
- be your child's confidant if they want to talk about personal issues
- updating medical records
- updating the immunization records
- medical examinations of all students taking part in the AISR sports program.
The school nurse does not replace your family doctor (Huisarts), but we try to work together with you and the doctor in your child's interest.
