Music

Music for the Early Years begins at the age of three here at AISR.  Its focus is on young, developing children who are in the process of discovering their bodies, emotions and everything in the world around them.  The music program accompanies them through this process with songs, rhythms, activities and movements.  Guided by the National Standards for Music Education set forth by the MENC (Music Educators National Conference), the music program aims to encourage and cultivate in its students, a true understanding of music and its place in the everyday world.

Field Trips

Pre-Kindergarten One plans on taking at least one trip per quarter. The places we plan to go to include the fire station, market garden, light museum and the bakery.

Pre-Kindergarten Two plans on taking at least one trip per quarter. Some places we may go to are the zoo, the beach and the grocery store.

Kindergarten will go on several field trips during the course of the year.
The main field trips include:
  • First Quarter: Ontdekhoek in Rotterdam (Science Museum)
  • Second Quarter: Space Expo in Noordwijk
  • Third Quarter: Het Geertje (Petting Zoo)
  • Fourth Quarter: Sea-Life Aquarium in Schevening
All field trips are designed to be relevant to the children’s interests and are age appropriate. Some field trips may be an all day trip, which would require a snack lunch from home. Generally, one or two parents will be notified to accompany us as a helping hand. Notification of these field trips will be sent home prior to the date of the trip.
