Athlete of the week: March 5 - 9

Name: Giulio
Profile:: Giulio is a member of the U12 Boys basketball team. As captain, he leads by example in games and in practise. Giulio is a constant threat on the offensive side of the ball, whether he is scoring points himself or driving to the hoop to set someone else up for a basket. His great athleticism and speed make him a very difficult player to stop. On the defensive side of the ball, Giulio often guards the opposing teams best ball handler and more often than not, he proves to be a big pain for whomever he is guarding.

Athlete of the week: Jan. 29 - Feb. 2, 2007

Name: Brooke
Profile:: Brooke is a returning member of the Girls Varsity basketball team. She comes to practice ready to play and always gives her best effort.  If she finds a move difficult, she will work it out in her mind and then practice it until she is proficient. Brooke shows excellent focus during shooting drills and this paid off for her and the team in the victory over ISH, making 5 out of 12 from just inside the 3 point line and 4 out of 4 free throws. She was also under the basket fighting for rebounds against the taller ISH girls and making it difficult for them to keep possession. Brooke plays great defense and is an example of hard work and a team play.  Keep up the good work Brooke!

Profile:: Stephen is a new member of the HS boys’ basketball team. With only three practices in his entire lifetime, Stephen overpowering, intense defense and positive “happy go lucky” attitude picked up the entire high school team at the ISST Holiday Tournament at ASH recently.  Although this is his first year playing basketball, he has brought tremendous confidence to these boys showing that any member of this team can step up and get the job done as long as he really gives it 110%.
