track and field

This year's track and field team is coached by Sue Graham, champion javelin thrower in her day, and Robert Zeilstra.

We have 13 students on the team. New to track and field are 5th graders, Ji-Eun, Kelly, Chantelle, Isobel, Felix, Nils and 6th graders Nico. 7th and 8th graders are Kate and Kunyao and Jaret. From last year's team we have Alex , Byron and Daniel.

Recently the team went to Antwerp for a mini-meet which actually had 6 schools attend.

Isobel was the most busy of our athletes, and quite successful also.  She ran a 400, 800 and 1500 all in one day, and finished in 4th and 5th place in her running events.
Kunyao was also outstanding in the shot put, coming in 4th. Alex improved his 1500 from last year's NECIS meet by 55 seconds. Everyone had a successful and fun day and will prepare them well for the NECIS Meet in Dusseldorf soon.
