After School Activities
The American International School of Rotterdam (AISR) offers an excellent after school program that includes opportunities for students to join a number of sports teams, participate in band or choir, as well as participate in a number of fun clubs and activities that allow students to learn new skills or develop existing ones.
The '2016-2017 Co-curricular Handbook' contains details of all Skill Development Sessions, After School Clubs and Activities that we offer at AISR this year.
Skill Development Sessions
Skill Development Sessions (SDS) are formal after school tutorials where students gain additional, regular support in a specific academic area. There are a number of SDS offerings in a number of subject areas. There are both group session and private options. Private lessons provide one-to-one instruction, while group sessions provide support for three to five students.
Clubs are opportunities for students to engage in fun activities that help to promote learning and social engagement. Clubs are designed to help students explore their passions and meet other students. Each club requires a minimum of three students to operate.
AISR offers opportunities for students to participate in an inter-school athletics program. AISR teams compete against teams from other international schools in the Netherlands, Germany, Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Belgium, and Luxembourg.
The music program at AISR provides opportunities for students to participate in orchestra, band, choir, or to receive private music lessons for a wide range of instruments from a number of instructors.
AISR encourages non-AISR individuals and groups to make use of the AISR facility. This provides extended opportunities for families to participate in a number of other interesting activities. While these clubs and activities are hosted at AISR, each non-AISR club or activity is managed by an external person/organization. For further information on non-AISR clubs and activities, please contact the organizer directly.
