Learning at AISR
Since 1959, The American International School of Rotterdam has been serving the international community by providing accredited, dynamic academic programs to students from three to eighteen years of age.
Our students, parents and staff represent a diverse range of languages, nationalities, cultures and backgrounds; we regard this diversity as one of our most precious resources, and we demonstrate our appreciation for these resources by regularly revisiting the AISR Core Values to ensure that we are indeed living them.
Led by teachers from many different nations, and with optimal student-teacher ratios, our classrooms provide a safe environment for students to become fully engaged in learning and inquiry, growing both intellectually and emotionally. Through academic rigor based on world-class standards for learning and delivered in an atmosphere of individualized support and care, AISR enables all students to achieve their respective academic and personal potentials.
We promote the aims of international education from the International Primary Curriculum through to the International Baccalaureate. These aims include:
- Ensuring that an attitude of mutual respect exists among all groups that comprise our school community.
- Ensuring that exemplary achievement in learning is central to all decisions we make as a school.
- Ensuring that we promote opportunities developing, recognizing and embracing global citizenship.
At the secondary level, the International Baccalaureate Diploma is an internationally recognized, pre-university course of study that leads to challenging external examinations. This two-year program has earned a reputation for equipping students with the skills and attitudes that will facilitate their successes in higher education and/or in the workplace.
