The cafeteria at AISR is known as ‘Tjeerd’s Place’ and is part of VRC Catering, which has been catering International Schools and local Dutch schools in the Netherlands for over 27 years.
At AISR, Tjeerd’s Place serves around 250 students and staff per day and offers a full range of International style foods. Every day Tjeerd’s Place offers a healthy school menu including both cold and hot main courses (for example “Plate of the day”, pasta, sandwiches, salad bar, fruit and dairy products). The monthly school menus from Tjeerd’s Place are available at www.aisr.nl under ‘Community’, or alternatively from the front office.
Lunch is not the only meal served at our cafeteria; the cafeteria opens at 7:30am every school day and offers a variety of freshly baked breakfast options. Parents are always welcome to stop by for a bagel and coffee.

New in 2017: Cashless Cards to replace paper lunch cards
This school year, we have implemented a new lunch card system called ‘MyCashless’. MyCashless is a system that allows parents to top up money on their child’s card online. Children will be able to purchase a school lunch from the monthly menu or choose to eat A La Carte with this card. Instructions for registration and upgrading credit on this card can be found on the following page. Cashless Cards can be purchased from Tjeerd for a one-off fee of €2.75 and cards can be kept for the entire duration of your child’s stay at AISR. Students, staff and parents are also able to purchase products with pin or cash.
The costs for students are as follows:
Pre-Kindergarten €3.25 per school lunch menu
Kindergarten through Grade 5 €3.50 per school lunch menu
Parents of PK1-Grade 5 students are advised to activate and upgrade credit immediately once purchased, as the card will then need to be returned to AISR the following school day. The cards will be kept in the cafeteria and managed daily by Tjeerd (just as the paper lunch cards were in the past).
Middle and High School students can also purchase the cashless card. For lunch, they have two options; they may buy the daily plate (€3.50), or choose to eat A La Carte. Prices vary with quantity and selections. Middle and High School students will be responsible for their own cards.
Still have paper lunch cards? Before starting with a Cashless Card, paper lunch cards will first be used until they are finished. It is no longer possible to purchase new paper lunch cards.
Lost card? With MyCashless, parents are able to withdraw money and cancel their card via www.mycashless.nl or the app of MyCashless and a new Cashless Cards can be purchased by Tjeerd for €2.75.
